I used to be able to remove a browser session in Firefox developer tools. Now, it seems I can't? I've enabled viewing the storage tab and I can see the session but it no longer gives me the option to remove it.
My reason for wanting to remove a session is for web development. My site stores nav changes in a PHP session and I would like to not have to completely kill the browser and re-open.
Any ideas? Using FF 39.0php session http://andrewcmabry.com/session.jpg

- From the firefox button or the tools menu go to the Options > Privacy panel.
- Select 'Firefox Will: Use Custom Settings for History'
- Click on the 'Show Cookies' Button
- Use the search box to enter the domain name of your site under development or drill down the folder lists to locate the website whose cookies you want to delete.
- Select the cookie or cookies in the located list that you want to delete and click on 'Remove Cookie'.
Once this has been done you will just have to refresh your page and allow your PHP to check for a valid session, and when it does not find one it will create a new session and save a new PHPSESSID cookie to your browser as a brand new session that you can do what you like with.

There is a better way described here:
- Enable Storage tab in developer tools using the settings icon in top right corner of developer tools.
- Go to cookies and right click on it, then Delete All

This is not a programming question. My firefox just crashed and it won't restore previous session. It opens with this
about:sessionrestore
on the URL. I get a alert box with 'The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.'
Wondering if anyone has seen this before and how to manually restore the closed sessions. I'm using the latest version of Firefox 9.0.1.
Thanks

I've had the same problem. From experimenting, it looks like the problem is in the sessionstore.js itself. You can try renaming sessionstore.bak to sessionstore.js and see if that will open but given the behaviour of Firefox, it might be too late already. It is in my case.

In our earlier post, we described the method of enabling the automatic restoration of the previous browsing session in Firefox. Now in this post, we’ll see how to restart Chrome or Firefox browser without losing tabs, and make it open the same tabs in Windows 10.
Restart Firefox browser with same tabs
There can be multiple reasons for restarting the browser after shutting it down. However, while attempting to do so, we run the risk of losing running tabs. In that case, you’ll need to manually restore all previous tabs and windows using restore previous session option – or enable the automatic restoration of the previous session if the option is not configured.
It is important to remind that the earlier iterations of the Firefox browser featured Developer Toolbar (GCLI) to quickly restart the browser. This is nowhere to be seen now. That doesn’t mean we have no option to restart Firefox with same tabs. We have shared two methods that will help you restart Firefox with all opened tabs.
Free dongle emulator software. 1] Using about:RestartRequired Page
It’s a hidden page in Firefox browser, often utilized to apply newly installed updates.
Launch Firefox browser, type ‘about:restartrequired‘ in Firefox address bar and press Enter.
Restore Firefox Session From Backup
This will open a page bearing the following message –
Sorry. We just need to do one small thing to keep going. We have just installed an update in the background. Click Restart Firefox to finish applying it. We will restore all your pages, windows and tabs afterward, so you can be on your way quickly.
When visible, click on ‘Restart Firefox’ button to restart Firefox browser.
The action, when confirmed, will close and re-launch the browser with all previously opened tabs.
2] About:Profiles Page
Type about:profiles in Firefox address bar and press Enter.
When prompted with a warning message, ignore it and proceed further.
It will open the About Profiles page.
Restore Lost Firefox Session
Click on ‘Restart normally..’ button to restart Firefox web browser.
Firefox will close and re-open with all previously opened tabs and windows.
Restart Chrome without losing tabs
To restart Chrome browser, keeping the same tabs intact. you need to type the following in the address bar and hit Enter:
That is all there is to it!
TIP: Download this tool to quickly find & fix Windows errors automatically
