Q: Is the mod dead?
A: Although it is a bit quiet sometimes, the mod is definitely not dead.
Q: When will the new version of Republic at War be released?
A: We won't give any concrete dates during our development time. Once we are sure we can keep a specific date or time period we will let you know on our Moddb page.
Q: My AI is not working/doing anything. How can I fix this?
A: This is an issue because the mod was not installed correctly. Please see the Install Instruction. Make sure in your Forces of Corruption data directory there is a folder called 'XML'. Inside this folder there must be a 'AI' folder. If this does not exists you installed raw wrong!
Q: How can I build unit X?
A: Please look into the manual. If a unit has special build dependencies they are written there. For instance Imperial Star Destroyers are not buildable in Galactic Conquests in version 1.1.5. You will get three ISDs in the 'Fall of the Jedi' GC after the Empire has been formed.

Q: Will unit X be in the next release?
A: We really appreciate you have plans for Republic at War and we try to add content that is requested. The mod is for the fans. However Republic at War is far from being a simple unit replacement mod. Our goal is to create the ultimate Clone Wars experience with each new version. Adding new units will of course be part of any major update but we need to find the perfect mix between new features and new units. Therefore some requested units have to wait for other releases or will never see the light of earth (like Jar-Jar).

Q: I want to use models or other content from Republic at War for my mod. Can I use them.
A: If you are creating a private mod you can of course use any of our content. If you plan to release your mod make sure you give proper credits to ALL items you used. If you follow the rules, you can use our content without written permission. Please see the Manual or Credits file that comes with the mod to get detailed information how to credit content correctly.
Q: I want to be a Beta-Tester. Can I be one?
A: We are looking for qualified people who have been a while with us. Based on your public activity, supporting and modding experience we will reward a few people to be a beta tester. We will inform you via PM on Moddb.com or Email. If you were not chosen the last time you will of course have the chance to be a tester the next period.
Q: I want to edit the mod for instance to increase the population value of the units. Can you help me?
A: Although you are free to edit Republic at War the staff will not support you changing our mod. If you are new to modding you might want to read some tutorials first.
Q: I can start the mod but all my text says [MISSING]. How can I fix this?
A: This is because you are using a different language version of the game that the mod. To fix this there are two options:
- The included Launcher of Republic at War can do this this task for you. Open the launcher and navigate the 'language' tab. Choose your game language from the list and click the 'change language' button.
- You need to do some renaming of files and folders. Open the Republic at War mod folder and navigate to '..DataText'. Rename the MasterTextFile_English.dat to MasterTextFile_YOURLANGUAGE.dat. For example: MasterTextFile_Spanish.dat. Additionally you need to rename the folder '..DataAudioSpeechEnglish' to '..DataAudioSpeechYOURLANGUAGE'.
Q: The AI even on easy is very hard. Is this intended?
A: The AI known from Empire at War was very weak and it seems people got used to it. We want Republic at War to be a real challenge for the players. However in version 1.1 and 1.1.5 AI was indeed a bit too strong on easy level. For the newer versions we changed that.
Q: Free dongle emulator. Some of the textures do not match to the rest of the unit. The Venator for example has a solid red. How can I fix this?
![Crash Crash](/uploads/1/2/3/7/123702969/666328062.jpg)
A: This issue usually occurs when you try to launch the mod with an Intel integrated graphics card. Please try running the mod with a dedicated graphics card from NVIDIA or AMD. Also make sure you have high video settings enabled in the game.
Q: I wan to play Republic at War online with my friends. How to do that?
Republic At War Crash Fix Pc
A: Sadly the official servers have been shut down. Please review some Youtube/Online tutorials about how to play Republic at War/Empire at War online. In general you can play Republic at War online or in a LAN against each other. Multiplayer Galactic Conquests are however not supported in version 1.1 to 1.2

- Not yet, I'm still scouring the web for other help, but I posted on here to see if anybody else found a solution!
- Junior MemberPosts: 15Registered Usersiim doing same. since we have no help lets post whatever we find on here :P team work!
- Still need help. I most recently tried: apps & features -> windows features -> legacy components -> Direct play (enabling it). This worked for Age of empires, but still no solution for Rome II. PLEASE HELP!
- I've found a way, it didn't work after deinstalling it, so I changed the properties of Rome2.exe to start as administrator and launched the game via the Rome2.exe, not steam. This way the launcher doesn't open and the game just opens. I have right now the same problem with Attila, where I had to rename the launcher.exe and start it again via Attila.exe.
Seems to be a problem caused by the launcher, could maybe be fixed after the holidays.
Currently you will have to enable/disable mods via user.script - Guys, I've found it!
You have to go to the directory of another TW game (I used Warhammer 2) which works for you, copy all files in the launcher folder, delete all files in the Rome 2 launcher folder, paste the copied files and your good to go.
This way you basically use the Warhammer 2 launcher for your game, since the Rome 2/Attila doesn't seem to work and you can still disable mods, etc.
Hope this helps you! - I'll give it a shot. Do we know if the launcher file is the same for all of the TW games? I've got Empire, Rome II and Medieval only.
- Hi Guys,
What I found to work was copying the rome2.exe file to the launcher folder and renaming it launcher.exe. I went back in steam and it started right up.
Rome2.exe is found in programs-steam-steamapps-common-Total War Rome II.
This solution was the good one for me. Thanks Bobobobo17Hi Guys,

- Not to bring up an old thread but I’m having a similar issue. Trying bobobos method but I don’t have a Rome.exe in my folder under steam, steamapps, common etc.
Any help? - edited January 2018I want to tag along here, these proposals don't work for my game. If I change the name of Rome2.exe to launcher.exe (or Launcher.exe), the launcher simply thinks I dont have the game installed..
I posted something earlier on here, no response so far (link). I figured I wouldn't start a new thread with 2 similar threads open. - i have the same problem in WINdows 10. Any fix yet or nothing?
- Hi Guys,
To be clear, I copied the rome2.exe file into the folder with the launcher file, then renamed it launcher.exe. I left rome2.exe alone. - edited April 2018I think i fixed it.
At leats for me it did.
I tried de copying rome 2 to launcher and renaming it and nothing.
Ran rome2 as administrator and nothing.
Finally it ocurred to me! Disconnecting the pc from the internet! And the game ran!
There must be something about Steam that is messing up the game, but at least i got it running again.
Hope it does the yrick for you guys.
On a final note, CA you really should be solving this problem. Paying costumers shouldnt have to waste hours on figuring out whats wrong with your software.Flag0·Like
+1 for working! love your workHi Guys,

Rome2.exe is found in programs-steam-steamapps-common-Total War Rome II.
After trying all the things here, I came across this and it still didn't work. Did you undo the other things before?? Also, when I start it up from the .exe file, it comes up with this message:
'Finally it ocurred to me! Disconnecting the pc from the internet! And the game ran!
There must be something about Steam that is messing up the game, but at least i got it running again.
Hope it does the yrick for you guys.'
I've no clue what to do.

We described the 2006 Petroglyph RTS Star Wars: Empire at War as 'a deep and beautifully-rendered take on Star Wars strategy' in our 2015 history of Star Wars on PC. More contemporaneously, we also said that it's 'probably as close as we'll ever get to the grand RTS that the films deserve.' So in short it's a really good game. There's only one problem: When Gamespy was shuttered in 2014, it spelled an effective end to Empire at War multiplayer, and thus a big reason to actually buy and play it.
That all changed today, however, as Petroglyph and Disney released an update that re-enables multiplayer support through Steam, in both the core game and the Forces of Corruption expansion. The patch also adds mod support via Steamworks and fixes a number of graphical and stability issues, 'so you won’t get interrupted by errors and glitches as you fight for control of the galaxy.'
'We have continued to watch the EAW community closely over the years and appreciate all the excellent support you have given us and the game,' Petroglyph said. 'Our thanks to all of you for the great feedback, awesome mod packs, and overwhelmingly positive reviews and Disney for facilitating the release of this work. We hope you enjoy this special update.'
Coincidence or not (and I expect it isn't), the Star Wars: Empire at War Gold Pack on Steam is also on sale over the weekend for half price, cutting it to $10/£7.50/€10. The full patch notes are below.
- Gamespy completely removed as multiplayer solution in lieu of Steam multiplayer back-end in both FOC and EAW
- Enabled windowed mode support
- 2 internal crashes found / fixed – no specific repro steps available
- Fix for broken object shadows in Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
- Fix for start game button not highlighting on mouse over
- Fix for multiplayer campaign save/load not picking the right save game on the client
- Support for more than 3 AI players in applicable games
- Fix for galactic save/load not loading a save game unless it's in slot 0
- Disable General Network Options button – This was only applicable to old modem/GameSpy players
- Hooked up community/web buttons to appropriate Steam overlay pages/websites as applicable (The old Gamespy buttons simply don’t work anymore so we repurposed them)
- Enabled selection/list of player mods on hard drive
- Crash fix for attempting to load an FOC mod in original EAW game
- Bug fix for creating units that are non-selectable in very long duration galactic mode games (makes save games unplayable past a certain point)
